Zeeland Gables
A compact yet spacious house inspired by the Scandinavian Långhus typology.

Nominated and shortlisted for the Zeeland architecture prize 2021

On a beautiful plot next to a winding old sea dike in the province of Zeeland our clients envisioned a modest wooden house. For people that love to be outside the house had to become part of the landscape.

The double high living room and artist studio on each end of the house are separated by the middle part that is divided in several rooms on two floors.
With wood cladding on the outside as well as on the inside the house creates a warm and natural living environment. Solar panels are placed on the land away from the house to not interrupt the wooden cladding that also continues on the roof. Built in the Sustainer modular system the house excels in energy efficiency, carbon reduction and circularity.
